Pillars of the Industry

The annual Pillars of the Industry awards recognize up to three ALA members (manufacturers’ representative, showroom and/or manufacturer) for their unique and meaningful service to advance the lighting industry and the ALA’s program and mission during the previous 18 months. Award recipients, nominated by ALA members and staff, are selected by the ALA Awards Committee. Nominations may be submitted to llauck@americanlightingassoc.com.

Andy Burns, CLC, LC, CLMR

Burns began his careerin ligthing in 1988 with Penny Lighting Sales, a manufacturers representative firm owned by his mother, Penny Burns Klein. The Burns family sold the company to Triple C Lighting and Controls in 2003, where Burns has worked since. During his time with Triple C, Burns has worked his way up to the position of partner at the company. Burns has been an active member of ALA for many years, serving on multiple committees. He currently serves on the ALA Board of Governors.

Jeffrey R. Dross

 

Dross began his career in residential lighting in 1974 while studying achetechture. Currently, Dross serves as corporate director of education and industry trends, and media spokesman at Kichler Lighting in Cleveland, Ohio. In this position, Dross lectures to professional organizations, including ALA, and has authored a number of articles about lighting for trade publications, consumer magazines and web journals. Dross frequently assists with ALA's educational programming.

Bob Warmbold, CLC

Warmbold began his lighting career at a young age with Active Electric Supply Co. in Chicago, Ill. After many years in the electrical industry, Warmbold and his wife moved to Oregon with their two small children to open, Accent Lighting. Lighting education has always been the cornerstone to Warmbold's success. He is actively involved in ALA and currently serves as chairman of the association's Certification Committee. Warmbold has staffed his showroom with knowledgable and dedicated employees, boasting multiple other CLCs on staff.
